Well, Episode 1 kicked things off nicely, and it’s already time for Episode 2!
We had some really awesome feedback (both praise and constructive criticism) from last week and loads of great suggestions. Please keep all of that coming!
We’ve added a Jobs section for this week. If you’re hiring, feel free to reach out and we’ll get your positions promoted here - even better if Statamic is mentioned in the job spec.
And of course, keep telling your Statamic-loving developers where to get the hottest sauce of Statamic news each and every week: from yours truly at Channel 4 News…
Releases a-plenty
This week saw not one, but two(!) releases:
v3.1.28 followed quickly by v3.1.291
Sites can now capture extra arbitrary attributes in their config - this is very tidy!
The GraphQL service now supports
array
fieldsThere’s a new
{session:has}
tagAs well as a regular schedule of fixes and other improvements
Discordia
Here are the standout items from the Discord this week:
bq shared a link to one of the Statamic YouTube videos - there’s a whole channel full of useful screencasts for the watch-and-learn types among us! Great for those just getting started
jaygeorge also shared his series of screencasts, which offers even more in-depth guidance for a variety of more advanced topics
SteveEdson shared a snippet which is helpful if you’re wanting to customise what gets shown in the Preview panel (great for headless sites) - just remember to clear your cache to get this working!
Jack has kicked off a new channel, #docs, presumably to talk about ducks 🐣
MOAR Addons!
Looks like Jack is working on something pretty sweet for add-on developers, using a package called Archetype. Something magical is coming this way! 🦄
Other than that, it’s been a pretty quiet week on the add-ons front, so here’s one that we just missed in last week’s newsletter to keep you ticking over
BearHub - syncs your Bear notes with your Statamic Collections, effectively enabling publishing to your site from the Bear app 🧸
Jobs
There’s a #jobs channel in the Discord with a few posts lately. Here’s some screenshots, if either tickle your fancy, boot up your Discord machine and DM those posters!
Also if you’re hiring and want to get the word out a bit further, just hit reply and let us know the details. We’ll spread the work!
From the Forum
The Forum is a great place to go to get a solution to any challenges you’re facing building sites.
Unit testing with the Stache [unanswered] - a problem I would love to solve, especially for larger sites
Some pages downloading instead of rendering - try not to use reserved words for your field names (you might have spotted something to help with this in one of this week’s releases too!)
Suggestion: Dictionaries - sounds like a cool idea!
‘Ave a butchers at these new Statamic sites!
Find of the week
Peak, by Studio 1902, is an excellent Starter Kit that’ll get your Statamic projects off on the right foot, with more energy than a Marathon bar.
Sponsors
Thanks to our sponsors, without whom this newsletter would not be possible!
Statamic - still the best (Laravel-based) CMS in the Milky Way
Gitamic - the full power of git inside Statamic
That’s about it for the past week in StatComm! Have a great week y’all.

We’re not going to be listing every little release detail in here, so it’s always a good idea to check the official release notes on GitHub for the full skinny.
